Description

Did you know that it takes a Latina 23 months to earn what a White man earns in 12 months? LCSV is working to bring awareness to this wage gap and the impact it has on our families. Join us at our Latina Equal Pay Day Rally co-hosted by the Santa Clara County Office of Women's Policy on Thursday, December 8th, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Bench-Tek Solutions, LLC (525 Aldo Avenue Santa Clara, CA 95054) to join us in advocating for pay equity for Latinas and hear about ways you can get involved in closing the wage gap.

On average Latinas lose out on $1,864,120 over a 40 year career when compared to a white man.  Although in California, Latinas make 42 cents for every dollar that a White man makes, Latinas living in Silicon Valley are experiencing even more inequity as they earn 33.5 cents for every dollar that a White man earns.

If progress continues at the same rate as it has since 1985, Latinas will not reach equal pay with White non-Hispanic men for another 185 years, or until 2206. (IPWR 2021)

If the wage gap were eliminated, on average, a Latina working full time, year-round
would have enough money to afford one of the following:

 More than three additional years of child care.
 More than 18 additional months of mortgage payments.
 More than two additional years and two months of rent.
 One and a half years of the maximum retirement contribution to their employersponsored 401(k) retirement account.
 Almost 20 additional months of premiums for employer-provided health insurance.
 Pay off student loans in just over one year.

When we uplift Latinas, we uplift entire familias!
